    3. Thank you for this information John. For many years I have been meaning to visit the British Newspaper Library when in London, but have not made it yet, so this is a great alternative!! Some tips for searching this great site (link below): 1) Start with a very specific search criteria: eg: Richard Franklin Ballyvolane then try a more general search such as Franklin Limerick. You can just try a surname as well, but there could be lots of results!! Select "Entire Document" 2) Do not limit the publication dates as you may miss something (as I nearly did by selecting "Before 1865" for example). select "All" instead - it's only a century after all!! 3) If you want to print the item, you can increase the size from 33% to 50% before printing, to make it easier to read, or if it is in the first / left column, you may be able to increase it to 100% without losing any of the article. Before printing check FILE > PRINT PREVIEW to see if your article actually fits within the page, and note what page it is on - its easy to find - its highlighted even in the Preview! You may only need to print page 3 of 5, and not all 5 pages, for example to get your article. 4) Sometimes the actual article does not open completely - eg: only half a column may appear! Just select "View Page" which is next to "View Article" and wait for it to load, then select "View Article" and whenever I have done this the whole article does appear, not just half of it!! 5) The Search criteria you initially entered is highlighted in each article, so it may not be necessary to read / check the whole page HOWEVER I did not see any criteria highlighted on the ONE page more than once, which possibly means there could be other entries on that page. 6) Note, not all newspapers for the 19th Century are on this site. Even papers such as the Freeman's Journal, are not complete, some issues are missing. I have been able to establish that my GGG Grandmother actually existed (finding her obituary!!), found a lovely news item re the townsfolk ploughing the fields after the death of her husband, and finding the name of the second of their four sons!! Thanks to the Belfast News-Letter!! Also found my landed gentry connections - the BEVANs of Camass, Limerick - had an "attempted fratricide" well represented in the ENGLISH papers - even made it into the WELSH papers (in Welsh of course!) Not bad for a days work!! Thank you again John!
