Hi, Someone ( I believe it was Sean) had suggested I email the current Knight of Glin about my Fitzgerald family. I took his advice. I just got an email from a Tom Donovan, Corcamore, Clarina, County Limerick who said that the Knight of Glin had passed my email on to him. He states that he had just been reading the Limerick Chronicle of May 5, 1804 in which there is an advert for the sale of a house in Newton Pery by my John Fitzgerald. He is described as an Attorney and Notary Public. Tom said he also works on Francis Street in Limerick City which is where according to the Pigots directory my John Fitzgerald had his office. He will contact me later when has had a chance to do further research. Thank you so much for the suggestion. Carla
Hi Carla, I have emailed Tom Donvan before. Alas, I never received a response from him. He is just about the most knowledgeable person who knows everything and anything about Glin history. In looking him up on Google, I found this: "Tom Donovan, a man with an unrivaled knowledge of the history of the Glin area - he is chairman of the Glin Historical Society - contributes several articles to the Glencorbry Chronicle." I am very happy for you and very jealous! Congratulations! Hi Carla, I am delighted that my suggestion paid off. From what I know of the Knight himself I would have been disappointed had he not replied or in this case passed the e-mail on. I hope you will have more success with Tom sEAN -----Original Message----- From: irl-limerick-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-limerick-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Carla Johnson Sent: 07 March 2008 15:47 To: Irl-Limerick@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL-LIMERICK] Fitzgerald Family of County Limerick Hi, Someone ( I believe it was Sean) had suggested I email the current Knight of Glin about my Fitzgerald family.
