The north and south Tipperary centres are part of IFHF.These records are of course also held in Limerick IFHF as Pallasgrean is in county Limerick. ----- Original Message ----- From: <JoForLife@aol.com> To: <irl-limerick@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 23, 2008 7:56 PM Subject: [IRL-LIMERICK] IFHF & TFHR ? Dear List: Am I correct in stating that the records I found on the IFHF for my Roman Catholic Flood family would be from the Diocese of Cashel & Emly, because they're from the Catholic parish of Pallasgreen, and they're pre-1864? Is then Tipperary Family History Research centre part of the IFHF now? I ask because the website for the Diocese of Cashel & Emly says they're the only facility approved by the Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly for research in their records. Or has the IFHF been approved and they've not updated their site? These are the records: Parish: PALLASGREEN & TEMPLEBREDON Marriage Flood Matthew 1834 Marriage Brazil Honora 1834 Parish: PALLASGREEN Baptism Flood William 1834 Baptism Flood Michael 1837 Baptism Flood Mary 1839 Baptism Flood Edmond 1841 Baptism Flood Timothy 1843 And John from Sydney found these: Matthew Flood in C.P Grean, T/L Plaukarauka Matthew Flood in C.P Tough, T/L Dromsallagh. I'm asuming the one in Plaukarauka is the correct one, and that's in the Diocese of Cashel & Emly, too. Actually, they both are because Dromsallagh is in the RC parish of Cappamore. Thanks. I'm going to try to get my 4 distant Flood-related cousins to chip in on this with me before the end of March. Jo ************** Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home. The Tipperary Family History Research centre is not part of the Tipperary North or South heritage groups. I think the Tipp. North group is in Roscrea while the Tipp. South group is in Cashel and, again I think, is the Bru Boru group. The Tipperary Family History Research group is (was) the only group allowed access to the Catholic church records for the diocese of Cashel and Emly. >From reading a statement on the diocesan website it would appear that the parish Priests in the parishes of the diocese situate in Limerick may be in a position to permit inspection of those parish records whereas such discretion is not allowed to parishes of the diocese in the county of Tipperary. The other grouping probably access the civil records only.
