I am posting recently-found info on my Ryan family of Dromalta, Cappamore. James Ryan married Bridget Hayes (date unknown, 1822?). Children: 1. Michael Ryan - baptised Kilduff, Pallasgreen, Sept 7, 1823 2. Catherine Louisa Ryan, born ?, baptised ?. 1828 (family recollection) - this is my great-great grandmother. 3. Mary Ryan - born ?, died 1846 4. John Ryan - born 1832 5. Matthew Ryan - born/baptised 1834, Dromalta, Cappamore. 6. Jeremiah Ryan - born/baptised July 1, 1836, likely Dromalta. 7. James Ryan - born 1839, died 1839 On March 26, 1839, Bridget (Hayes) Ryan died. James Ryan remarried on June 15, 1839. Whom did he marry? I have not been able to find any records,since Cappamore's records of marriage do not begin until 1843. The only clues are: 1. My grandmother remembered her grandmother telling her she had brothers named Jeremiah, Joseph L, and Carlo. Thetwo latter would have been from marriage #2. 2. My great grandmother wrote in her diary that a Mary Hayes had come to visit, in New York City, Aug., 1891, and Mary Hayes told my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Haines, that William, son of Mary Hayes, was step-brother to Mary Elizabeth. Was wife #2 a relative of wife #1, and perhaps a widow at time of marriage to James Ryan? Any help welcome! Nancy Peregrine
