This may be my first posting to this list. certainly the first for a long time, I have very little information but this is what I have managed to piece together. My gg grandfather was David Sheehan, born circa 1825 in Ireland.My gg grandmother Catherine Gorman was born 1823 also in Ireland. According to the 1861 census of Poplar all 5 of their children were born in Middlesex, but none of the births seem to have been registered.Catherine died in 1885, but David lasted until 1898 so I got a clue from the 1891 census, which states that he was born in Limerick. So now I need to try and track a marriage between 1843( when David would have been 18) and 1852 when their oldest daughter was born. I did a search on FreeBMD today and am sure they didn't marry in Britain. The family was Roman Catholic, any clues would be appreciated Regards Joe Austen in OZ
