Basil, I have run across 2 Ballyhenry's. One was up in the civil parish of Bourney in No. Tipp, which wouldn't be all that far from Nenagh. The other was on the border of Cullen civil parish and Solohead civil parish in So. Tipp and not all that far from Oola. Oola and Solohead are now a combined RC parish. Ballyhenry in Bourney still exists as a townland, but the one in the south does not seem to have survived as a modern townland. Oola, Solohead and Cullen exchanged areas of land over the centuries, so if you are working on this one, you should look under all three civil and RC parishes. Oola records are in Solohead now and begin 1809-1810 in the diocese of Cashel & Emly. The one in the north is, I think, in the RC parish of Couraganeen and in the Diocese of Killaloe and I don't know when the records begin. Oola is in Limerick but on the Limerick/Tipp border and Cullen and Solohead are just inside the border in Tipp. Janet On Tue, Feb 8, 2011 at 12:55 AM, Basil Kealey <[email protected]> wrote: > For sometime now I have been searching for my gggggrandfather Darby(Jeremiah)Kealy's Family who the Irish birth records indicate was baptized in Nenagh,County Tipperary in 1794 with his father Daniel Kealy from Ballyhenry,County Tipperary and his mother Honora Scanell from Cork.I recently found the enclosed information from County Limerick,Oola Civil Parish 1826 -Coonagh Barony of several Kealy's-Keeley's-Keiley's residing in Ballyahiff,Kylenagoneeny,Oola Hills area in County Limerick .Can you help me with any information you can find on these family members. It is now thought that Darby Keally immigrated to Canada in 1829.-Thank you and kind regards.-Basil Kealey > > > > http://www.connorsgenealogy.com/LIM/OolaTithes.htm > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
There is no record in any of the R.C.Parishes' in Limerick of this family.Where do you propose I start searching for this family. As far as I can determine they were living in Oola Civil Parish in 1826 and it may be that Darby Kealy was married before his immigration to Canada in we believe 1829;however this date may not be correct as no Ship record has been found of his landing in Canada. It is believed that Darby Kealy immigrated with two uncles,James and Martin. As I previously reported Darby (Jeremiah) record of birth in Ireland is documented in Irish records as baptized/birth on 12 July,1794 in Nenagh Parish,Co.Tipperary,Roman Catholic Denomination ,born to father Daniel Kealy of Ballyhenry,Co.Tipperary and mother Honora Scanell fro Cork.Sponsor was Richard Federston and Jane Querry and Rev.D.L.Murphy was the Priest.Any help you can give me to find information on the place of residence, family or date of immigration,Ship to Canada etc;would be most welcome.-Basil ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janet Crawford" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2011 4:45 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] Fw: Oola Civil Parish,County Limerick tithe applotments > Basil, I have run across 2 Ballyhenry's.
