I am trying to locate any information on my great grandmother, Mary McCarthy,of Abbeyfeale. She was born ca 1825 in Abbeyfeale. Her father was John McCarthy mother unknown. She emigrated to Canada between 1849-1851 according to notes left by her daughter. Any suggestions regarding how to find more information on her would be greatly appreciated. Loraine, Assuming your ancestors were Catholic, you can email the church in Abbeyfeale at [email protected] It took six months but I finally got a response regarding my great grandfather's baptism in 1844 as well as his sister's in 1848. Information on their parents was also provided. Good luck. I hope they can help you. Have you tried Familysearch (the LDS site). They have lots of new records on there.
