Hi Jan, My Margaret Garry was in Kildare mid 1800s. She married Thomas Stackpole. They are the parents of my great grandmother, Julia Stackpole married to John Walsh, 27 Aug 1870, in the RC parish of Celbridge in Kildare. Sons appear to be Francis, Thomas and John. There could be a connection as I have not been able to find them in Griffiths Valuation in Kildare, and there are lots of "Stacks" in Kerry and probably in Limerick as well. Julia was born about 1848. On the 1901 census she states that she was born in Kildare but I just checked the 1911 census and she states that she was born in Dublin. If that is the case, I might be looking for Garvey instead of Garry. I had eliminated Garvey when I was under the assumption that she was born in Kildare and there were NO Garveys in Kildare in GV!
