    1. Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] Sullivan - Shanagolden
    2. Diand, My Sullivans were from Lisready Cripps, Loghill, County Limerick.... very close to Shanagolden... about 4 miles. Unfortunately, the earliest church records for Loghill were lost. In 1829, my James Sullivan claimed that he had three brothers in Lisready Cripps - John, Michael and Timothy. I believe Michael emigrated to Canada to be with my James. John and Timothy were still living with their families on the homestead in 1846. By 1852, just John's family remained (I have no idea what happened to Timothy's family). According to another family member (in 1929), the brother John had a son John Sullivan who married a Mary M McNaughton in Glin in Jan 1853. I realized that you said his mother's name was Margaret James, but that seems to be in question so I thought I'd throw out the possibility. Do you know any of John's siblings or any other hints about him? I visited Shanagolden in 1999 and wrote down all the marriages of Sullivans between 1827 and 1848. There were a number of John Sullivans but none married a James. Anyway, not much to go on, but I thought I'd throw it out to you as a possibility. Rita In a message dated 3/31/2011 2:34:25 P.M.
