I have a MICHAEL RIORDAN, born 1834 in Herbertstown, Limerick. (Civil parishes Kilcullane & Ballinard) Signs up in 43rd regiment in 1852, completes 20 years in army (mostly India, and NZ), and retires in 1872 ­ he says back to Herbertstown, Limerick. Most of his sons go to Royal Hibernian Military School, and then to army. Daughters not known. Does anyone have anything on him? Graveyard in Herbertstown perhaps? Or some record between 1872 and death (date unknown) or around his birth (1834). Anyone know if the tithes for Kilcullane Parish have survived? Looking for Riordans there.
