Greetings; My Great grandmother –Margaret Roche was born about 1875 in Limerick and emigrated to NYC in 1896. The brothers and sisters we know about are Delia Roche, Celia/Cecilia Roche, Thomas Roche born about 1883, and Michael Roche. We do not know the parents’ names, but do know that their father worked as a Valet in the Limerick area for a British Colonel. Thomas and Celia emigrated to the NYC area in 1901. Margaret Roche met and married James Carroll in NYC and they had 5 girls. James Carroll was born June 2, 1872 in Limerick. He worked in NYC as a Hanson Cab Driver in Central Park. In December 1917 he died from the Great Flu epidemic there. Margaret passed away on August 31, 1958 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery on Long Island, NY. I have found so many people in those days had the same or very similar names. I would like to be able to find out all that I can about Margaret’s family and James’s family-if I can. CarolF2
