Thanks to both of you!! Toma: I am actually not looking for the surname "Hunt." Rather seeking the surname "Wold" as the Hunts (having no heirs) left their estate to my ggggrandmother's sister named "Ann Wold" (who was their housekeeper) and she used proceeds of it to support my ggggrandmother (Katherine Wold Tierney) and her son, my ggg grandfather (ChristopherTierney Wold) until about 1820 when he was "cut off" and immigrated to Upper Canada (now Ontario) with my infant gggrandmother and presumably his wife (Ann Dorsey (or D'Arcy) in about 1840. He was arrested there for using name "Wold" until it was determined he was a "legitimate heir." After that he used the name "Tierney." There is something interesting there that happened in Ireland and I am trying to track it. Maybe the Church of Ireland cut off his trust fund? His mother remained in Ireland and is buried in "Upper Church," perhaps back in Cappawhite. Janet: I understand the confusing geography! The reason I am pursuing this is because google maps shows a place called "Hunt's Grove" to the north of Cappawhite and looking at it now, Hunt's Grove seems to be on an unnamed road between Ballyhane and Greenane.. All are just south of main road to Cloghonan, which is to west of R498 (at Currabaha). This piqued my interest and thus my question below. Thanks for your insight and help!!
