Some time back I had a lot of helpful friends on this list looking around to discern a place name for me. Well after spending heaps on Ireland's BDM search and certificate site I have found the three children. Now I am wondering if anyone can guide me to find the marriage of their parents? Here is information I have to date: In order of Birth Mary O'Brien born about 29 March 1831, in Murroe & Boher Parish/District. Parents: Kennedy O'Brien and Catherine Hayes. Religion: Roman Catholic. Thomas O'Brien born about 5 September 1833 in Murroe & Boher Parish District. Parents Kennedy O'Brien and Catherine Hayes. Religion: Roman Catholic Catherine Brien born about 11Oct 1836, in Murroe & Boher Parish/District. Parents Kennedy Brien and Kitty Hayes. Religion: Roman Catholic. Then I went looking for parents marriage. It was like putting money into a slot machine for I had no luck whatsoever. My discovering the children all born at least 8-10yrs earlier than any dates here in Australia indicated I did the same with parents marriage bearing in mind my three Australian members may have been the youngest of a large family tribe. I even tried for more children but drew a blank without knowing specific names. Then I hazarded a hunt for father's death as his name Kennedy was more unusual than Kitty or Catherine O'Brien. As the youngest, my ancestor Catherine came out and was married in 1865 I looked around same date and hit what I am hoping is gold. I suspected that she may have been the one to care for parents in their old age and once they were gone she joined her older siblings in Victoria, Australia and may have had to be younger than her age to get passage as an eligible single woman. Civil Death Record for Kennedy O'Brien 72 Years and died on 1 March 1864 at Ggorteenaskagh, Grange, in Parish/District of Caherconlish, County Limerick. Status: Married. Occupation Labourer. Male. No graveyard details Informant was Martin Walsh Relationship: Servant Address: As Above. Notes state: Dropsy. Gorteenaskagh was my link for on Mary's Death certificate it had that she had been born in Gortneeskagh, County Moher, Limerick. The misspelling had everyone confused and now I realize that it may have not been a town name but rather a property name but I couldn't find anything more than a Limerick council listing for land owners of that name but no revealing details. I can find NO marriage for Kennedy Obrien within a 14year time frame of 1831 and there are far too many for Catherine Hayes to even hazard a guess (but I tried) for correct listing. I have changed the dates in my FTM but no new green leaves pop up so I back here for some hints please. Thanks for your previous help and I am crossing my fingers that now the kids have come out of hiding the parents will too. Suzanne
