HI, I think I found my ggggrandmother Anna Maria Fitzgerald obituary on December 30, 1854. There is an obit on the Limerick City Library obituaries. It says that On the 22nd of inst. at Rathkeale, Anna Maria, relict of the late John Fitzgerald, Esq. of this city, Solicitor. She was Church Of Ireland, can anyone tell me what church she might have attended at the time. I thought that she might have married James D'Arcy Evans, but with it stating she was a relict of John Fitzerald, I don't know what to think. On their son John Coote Fitzgerald's Knights Inns Admissions papers it lists her as Anna Maria Evans. I thought that that might have been a married last name as she was the one who provided the affidavit. Also James D'Arcy Evans did marry an Anne Maria, who was the widow of John Fitzgerlad, Solicitor from Limerick City,. Even though the Admissions say it would be the mothers maiden name. Does anyone have an idea as to how to prove whether: 1. She did marry James D'Arcy Evans? 2. If she did why when James dies(1848) before she does why would she still be listed as the relict of John Fitzgerald? 3. The Church she would have attended in Rathkeale? 4. Also I have never been able to find Anna and Johns son Henry Fitzgerald who was baptised in 1810? Sorry this is so long. Carla Northern California

Thank you Joan. I actually have no interest in the India connection, as my ancestors went from Ireland with the 27th Foot Regt to South Africa, but I was hoping that there might be some of the extensive information you mentioned on those Embarkation Records too. East India Co not the British Regiments. Originally I found it on the FHL Catalogue. There are also Depot Description Lists in the L/MIL/9 series which contain a lot of information also. From memory though you had to know whether in Artillery or other unit or name of ship. I'm not sure of this as I found these about 15 years ago. I'll see if I can find how to find the LDS FHL catalogue and how I found the film which as I said above was many years ago. Hope this helps. To Sharon & Kathy: Thank you for your efforts in this wonderful project! Although I've been researching Mason family in Co. Clare just a stones through from Limerick City, I'm not at all familiar with what documents might be available to assist in my search. I'm looking for family who died between 1880 and 1920 and wonder if newspaper obituaries for this time period would be available online or how one would go about a research request. Hope you can provide some infomation/guidance. Thanks again, Judie Mason Chicago >________________________________ > >

Beautiful site! Is this cemetery located in Limerick City? If not, where in County Limerick is it located. I have finally finished the transcription for the 1850s register of burials > in Mount St Lawrence Cemetery > -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
This is still a farce. You still have to PAY before you get to see what you are buying. I don't mind paying for good copy's but I need to know it is my family line. (Particularly after Mr. Grenham mentioned "a way to outwit the restrictions" in his article published at: http://tinyurl.com/Grenham-article ) I want to make it perfectly clear that it was not my intention to "outwit" the site, but rather to show folks how to use the available features of the site to limit your hits and thus to make an informed intelligent decision as to which records to purchase. Based on the IFHF's statement: "You can refine your search as much as you like and as many times as you like before you need to pay to view any results.", I feel that my tutorial is NOT at all out of line and I hope it helps some of you narrow down those huge chunks of data when researching common surnames. Hi Cath Not that I'm aware of. My gr grandmother came to Troy, NY when she was about twelve and lived with her aunt Margaret Cloughesy Foley and cousins. Her sister Mary did not come to Troy until about 1904. I have finally finished the transcription for the 1850s register of burials in Mount St. Lawrence Cemetery, the register began in March 1855. Each year has it's own page, and the site is searchable by name, and you will be able to find out who else was buried in the same plot as your ancestor by using "find" function in your browser, use this to help you quickly locate a name on a page also. http://limerickslife.com/mount-saint-lawrence-cemetery/ Hopefully this will be of some help as the registers are quite difficulty to read while trying to locate one name, now on to the next decade. If you see any transcription errors please let me know. Sharon -- Limerick's Life <http://www.limerickslife.com> Limerick's Life Facebook <http://www.facebook.com/limerickslife>

This new charge thing with the archives is totally for the birds. I guess I'll just never know where my Hogan people came from and with the charges just to even look at the index, which tells you nothing, whose to know if you even have the right people?
