Hi all, I had mentioned The Gathering 2013 a few months ago; Ireland is calling its people back home. The information is on The Gathering website here: http://www.thegatheringireland.com/About.aspx Emly Village is looking for people abroad who have connections to the village so that they can be contacted. Even if you can't come to Ireland in 2013, you might want to get your name on the list and get the information. Or perhaps you might want to put together a family video over the holidays that you can send over for the Emly people to watch. Anyone who wants to be involved can contact me directly at reojan@gmail.com and I will pass your info on to Fr. Rocheford in Emly, who is one of the co-ordinators for Emly's Gathering. Pat, you might want to pass this on to the NY lists as well. Janet

I received an email this morning asking that I let Irish researchers know that they are looking for mysteries to solve. Brochure: http://db.tt/jAPcRABG Christina ................................................ I am a researcher on RTE's series 'The Genealogy Roadshow'. We are embarking on a second series and this involves appealing to people for their family mysteries. We then set our team of experts the task of finding the truth in historical records. Right now we need people to contact us with their stories and questions. It would be wonderful if you could let your Ireland Genealogy Project contacts know about this. I have attached some information about the series. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks and best wishes, Deirdre

I wonder if corrections will be made, George. I called up a listing and found a name in a townland that I had copied fromfilmed records in Co. Tipperary, but the digitized index item gave King's County. Very confusing.
www.genealogy.nationalarchives.ie now has Tithes listings online.Hope all not as bad as my result for particular family name-6 of the 10 entries on page one were in error as to name of parish,on digitised section-their microfilm copy of originals were clearly stated to be other parishes. -----Original Message----- From: Joan Birtles Sent: Monday, November 05, 2012 1:10 AM To: irl-limerick@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] John McInerney Hi Rita and thank you for your reply and thoughts. Hi Roland Thank you for your reply. The name Shawn/Sean McInerney has not cropped up in any of the little research I've done so far. Unfortunately I have no further information than what I have mentioned below. I have not been searching very long for the McInerneys and although they are not related, Michael Rudd and his wife Catherine nee McInerney [daughter of John McInerney & Johanna Dower] fostered my grandfather Edgar Lynch, here in Sydney, NSW Australia from 1898 when my grandfather's mother [Deborah Lynch] died. I have a feeling the McInerney's knew my grandfather's Lynch family back in either Co Clare or Limerick. Regards Joan Birtles Hello Joan in NSW, Au. I new a Shawn McInerney, not sure of the spelling? He was from Sligo to Canada and then lived in Fresno, Ca. where I am. Shawn/Sean was in a Convalescent a few years ago and I have heard nothing About him since. Roland Young Hello listers I am trying to trace the family of John McInerney born about 1829 in Thomond Gate? Limerick. If I have the correct man, John came to Australia as an assisted immigrant, on the ship "David McIver 2" in 1854 as an agricultural labourer, he could read and write and his religion was church of Ireland. The John McInerney I am tracing came to Oz before 1862 when he married Johanna Dower. He was shown as a Coach builder. The John above could have been him as New south Wales was after agricultural labourers at that time and he may have been rejected if shown that he was a coach builder. I have no idea of his parent's names, but his children to Johanna Dower were Catherine, Edward J, Mary, Thomas, John, Mary Pauline, Lavinia Ethel and Oscar. John died in 1887 at Balmain in NSW, Australia. I have not been able to find his birth on the LDS site. Thank you for any assistance. Joan in NSW, Australia
