    1. Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] fibis.org Indian search
    2. Valerie Garton
    3. I have access to the indexes to the baptisms, marriages and burials for India for 1713-1948. These give the volume and folio number for the church registers - mainly C/E of course but in later times there are some R/Cs if anyone needs a lookup. Once this information has been found the film of the register can then be ordered from the LDS. These indexes are available at Parramatta in Sydney and they are also available in Melbourne at one of the LDS centres. Regards from Valerie in sunny Sydney. 1. [IRL-LIMERICK] BIRTH REGISTRATION
    2. Maureen Eden
    3. Hi everyone - I've just subscribed to the list after a short absence. I'm hoping to send for birth certificates for my Irish ancestors born in Ballylanders & Galbally. I'm a bit confused, as I have found a birth in 1911 for my aunt with her mother's correct maiden name supplied. I presumed she was born in Ballylanders the same as my father but the birth is registered in Tipperary. Is this correct for Ballylanders? Any help from someone with local knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Regards Maureen

    1. Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] Limerick Guild of Ropemakers' - 1840
    2. If the implication of this post is that by my providing a transcription of the guild members for the city of Limerick as appeared in the 1840 newspaper article that I am somehow being redundant, I beg to differ. Yes, your ancestor may very well appear in this article AND appear as well in the trade directories that are maintained at the Limerick City Council's website. However, a simple examination of the trade directories at this site will NOT tell you whether or not your ancestor supported the REPEAL movement (and put his hard earned cash up to do so). Also, I have not yet begun to cross reference persons listed in this 1840 article with what is available in the trade directories for1840 at this web site, but odds are very good that some folks will be in the newspaper article who are NOT listed in the trade directories and vice versa, so I do not believe that the effort is superfluous.
