    1. Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] Look up ? Omalley Noonan IHFH
    2. Deb, searches on the IFHF site are free. This is not a "subscription" site where one joins and then has access to all the records...you have to pay for each record individually, so unfortunately no one here on the list can do a "look up" for you to save you any money. You'll have to look yourself, evaluate what you find there and then decide if the record looks promising enough to purchase it. As far as your Patrick Omalley being a priest in the Diocese of Killaloe (that Diocese covers 6 Counties in Ireland (Clare, Tipperary, Offaly, Limerick, Galway, and Laois) so he could have been just about anywhere! Email address for the Diocese is: cildalua@iol.ie Why don't you simply email and ask if they have any record of his having served in that diocese? 1. [IRL-LIMERICK] Ryans of Dromalta, Cappamore
    2. Nancy Peregrine
    3. I am posting recently-found info on my Ryan family of Dromalta, Cappamore. James Ryan married Bridget Hayes (date unknown, 1822?). Children: 1. Michael Ryan - baptised Kilduff, Pallasgreen, Sept 7, 1823 2. Catherine Louisa Ryan, born ?, baptised ?. 1828 (family recollection) - this is my great-great grandmother. 3. Mary Ryan - born ?, died 1846 4. John Ryan - born 1832 5. Matthew Ryan - born/baptised 1834, Dromalta, Cappamore. 6. Jeremiah Ryan - born/baptised July 1, 1836, likely Dromalta. 7. James Ryan - born 1839, died 1839 On March 26, 1839, Bridget (Hayes) Ryan died. James Ryan remarried on June 15, 1839. Whom did he marry? I have not been able to find any records, since Cappamore's records of marriage do not begin until 1843. The only clues are: 1. My grandmother remembered her grandmother telling her she had brothers named Jeremiah, Joseph L, and Carlo. Thetwo latter would have been from marriage #2. 2. My great grandmother wrote in her diary that a Mary Hayes had come to visit, in New York City, Aug., 1891, and Mary Hayes told my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Haines, that William, son of Mary Hayes, was step-brother to Mary Elizabeth. Was wife #2 a relative of wife #1, and perhaps a widow at time of marriage to James Ryan? Any help welcome! Nancy Peregrine

    1. [IRL-LIMERICK] William Flood
    2. My cousins and I think the name William had some special meaning to our Flood family. Matthew & Honora named their first son William and all but one of their other children also named their first son William. (That one named his first son after himself and his second son William.) We think perhaps the grandfather was named William or a brother of Matthew's named William became a priest or maybe died young. Does anyone know if there was a custom like that in Ireland that might help us figure it out? I only found one burial record for a William Flood on IFHF but I don't think he's related to our family as there were other William Floods baptized or married in that area. Thanks. 3. Can you do look ups on IHFH without paying for the search? If so and If someone would be so kind, I have been looking for the following: Marriage: Thomas C. Omalley, O'Meally etc Mary (Marg.) Noonan Believed to be married abt. 1834-1837 the children we know to have existed follow: Births: Patrick Omalley January 1837 ? Michael Omalley November 1839 ? Edmund O Malley Jan. 14, 1847 believe he died shortly after birth, would like to know the date and location Thomas OMalley Jr born abt. 1848 I have paid for look ups in Galway and Tipperary, but nothing can be located. So I thought maybe records might be in in Cashel Emly records. We believe Thomas's brother, Patrick, was PP in the Killaloe Diocese and that Thomas followed him from church to church in which he served. Thank you so much for any light you can shed on this family. They have remained very elusive so far! Debbie

I just ran across an obituary for a Colonel Daniel Davis Shanahan (who I am assuming was Roman Catholic because he was buried in an RC cemetery) who attended Trinity College and received his medical degree there BEFORE 1891. I spent a lot trying to find a marriage between a Mary Cleary and a Patrick Wilmoth with no success. I should have been smart enough to print all of them for anyone that might have been looking for them. 1. Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] help needed please.
    2. Cris, I don't know who sent you that marriage record either but the IFHF records suggest it may be correct. As I told you there is a marriage record in 1834 for Cornelius as follows: Marriage Kennelly Cornelius 1834 Co. Limerick Parish: ASKEATON and there IS one Corresponding NESTOR marriages in Askeaton in 1834: as follows: Marriage Nestor Margaret 1834 Co. Limerick Parish: ASKEATON I can't confirm your date of 27 Nov. 1834 for this marriage; you'd have to spend the 5 Euro to view the record and find out if this date is correct (and I should warn you just because there is a Margaret Nestor being married in Askeaton in 1834 and a Cornelius Kennelly same year same place does NOT mean that they married each other; this is a serious flaw in the marriage database at IFHF if you ask me -- they ought to cross reference bride and groom records...but they don't so you will be taking a stab in the dark here!) What I find interesting about this is that I bought a baptism record for a Denis Shanahan (born 3 Mar 1830 in Askeaton) parents turned out to be Daniel Shanahan and Mary NESTOR. Witnesses were Michael Kennelly and Mrs. O'Grady. The Mary Nestor mentioned here could be your Margaret/Mary Nestor (when she was still single, 4 years before she married Cornelius Kennelly?) and possible I suppose that the witness Michael Kennelly was a relative of Cornelius as well? Irelandoldnews.com has some online obits but I couldn't find one for a Cornelius Kennelly or a Mary or Margaret Kennelly. Here is what I found on the kids at IFHF: Baptism Kennelly Margaret 1836 Co. Limerick Parish: ASKEATON Baptism Kennelly Michael 1839 Co. Limerick Parish: ASKEATON Baptism Kennelly Peter 1842 Co. Limerick Parish: ASKEATON (No recs of a birth of a 2nd Michael Kennelly from 1842-1848 in Askeaton) Baptism Kennelly Thomas 1848 Co. Limerick Parish: ASKEATON Don't know if you would want to order the kids recs as you apparently already have their dates but paying to view at least 1 of them would definitely confirm their parents. Happy Hunting! Kathy Rhodes -------------- Original message from crazyangel25@webtv.net: -------------- Kathy thank you so much! This is fantastic I tried the IFHF site but only came up with the year of death,I must have been doing something wrong. Mary's maiden name was NESTOR. This is awesome I will lok at it more carefully I wanted to thank you first. Some time ago someone sent me ths but I dont know if it s accurate, as it was an email with no sources listed Cornelius KENNELLY married Margaret (or Mary) NESTOR 27 Nov. 1834 Some of their children were: Margaret born 6 Oct. 1836 ( married Maurice LANGAN died 1903 in Nebraska) Michael born 12 Oct. 1839 Peter born 25 Jan. 1842 Thomas born 3 Oct. 1848 There are further records, census, etc. which suggest that the first Michael (1839) probably died and another son was born between Peter and Thomas and that that son was also named Michael (but I have no birth record for him)." Ive never seen or found anything, The above is the extent of what I know Where would I find or order Civil Records? Burial? Are there obituaries online that anyome knows of for 1885 County Limerick? This is great Kathy, thank you again. Have a great weekend, wish I didnt have to work I want to persue this... Cris
