    2. Nope, these obits, marriages, etc. are just off shoots of my own personal research (when I'm going through newspapers and they have obits from Co Limerick/Cork/Tipperary I just transcribe and pop them off to the mailing lists). I've got a trial subscription to the Gale Group web site (http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/login.html) at the moment and I'm just pulling everything I can before the trial runs out! I do have a personal family web site for my SHANAHANs and LUBYs though http://home.att.net/~littlehouseantiques/home.html -------------- Original message from Hannigan Family Research <research@hannigangenealogy.us>: -------------- Kathy - do you have a website where you found these that would be helpful to other listers? littlehouseantiques@att.net wrote: The New York Herald (New York, NY) Saturday, January 10, 1857; pg. 5; col F (Death notices) DIED. 1. [IRL-LIMERICK] D'Arcy/Evans/Reeves families of Knockaderry House near Newcastle, co. Limerick; Reeves of Charleville; Boles of Cork
    2. Tom LaPorte
    3. Hello List I'm researching the Boles of Moyge, co. Cork one of whom, Elizabeth Boles, married James D'Arcy of Knockaderry House in 1738. They had at least two sons, a second James D'Arcy and a Boles D'Arcy who married Catherine Boles of Moyge in 1767. I don't know the line of descent from there but by the 1830's the house was in the Evans family. The Boles entered into the house's story again though when the daughter of John Boles Reeves of Belfort near Charleville married Thomas D'Arcy Evans of Knockaderry. The generations through these times are all names different combinations of these family names: Boles D'Arcy, Boles Reeves, Boles D'Arcy Reeves, John Boles Reeves, Thomas D'Arcy Evans etc. I could really use some help figuring out these people. Any small contribution would be appreciated. Thanks Tom

    1. [IRL-LIMERICK] McQuaids Limerick to Chicago
    2. Jill Williams' posting prompts this one re MCQUAIDs in our line who emigrated from Castlemahon (Mahoonagh) Limerick to Chicago between 1854 and 1857 (based on nothing more than the ages (notoriously inaccurate in my experience!) and birthplaces of children as reported in the 1860 Chicago census). Mary SCANLAN (DOB 1823) married David MCQUAID (DOB 1820) and, per the census, had the following children born in Ireland: Jeremiah (DOB 1843), Edward (1846), Mary (DOB 1848); David (DOB 1849); Catherine (1851); Timothy (DOB 1854). Their youngest, John, was apparently born in the US (1857). There are two other “Quade” or “Quaid” families listed on the same Census page on the same street (all born in Ireland) – A John who is 65 and his wife, Catherine (age 64), and, presumably their children Edward (24) and Helen (21). In another house are Mike Quaid (age 28) and Winnie (age 28), so perhaps they were all related. By the way, the name Jeremiah is the name of Mary’s brother-in-law, husband of her sister, Catherine Scanlan SULLIVAN. Jeremiah SULLIVAN, also Limerick born according to family lore, was already living in Chicago when the SCANLAN family arrived in 1850 or thereabouts. Not trying to be picky, I think what you're doing is wonderful, just have so much mail, trying to suggest something to make things a little more efficient. Thanks.
