    1. [IRL-LIMERICK] 43 Parnell St.
    2. Linda Bara
    3. Good afternoon listers, My grandfather lived with his brothers and sisters with my gggrandparents at 43 Parnell (Nelson) St. My grandfathers sister married a St. George. At 41 Parnell is the Charlie St. George Bar which is now owned by Murrough O'Byrne. He also now owns 42 and 43 Parnell St. I know that he wanted to knock down the buildings there and replace them with apartments and a sports museum. I am planning on coming to Limerick and fulfilling my late dad's wish, just found that the house did exist and now am afraid it will no longer be there. Can anyone tell me if the actual older buildings still exist at 43 Parnell or did Mr. O'Byrne knock them down... Thanks for any help, Linda Quaid Bara

    3. It would seem there are a few nicknames for Cork as follows: The Rebel County. Originally from Cork city's support for pretender Perkin Warbeck in 1495 and reinforced by Cork's prominence in the Irish War of Independence (1919–21) and the Irish Civil War, 1922–23. The Leesiders. River Lee The Donkey Aters (Eaters). Applied in particular to the vicinity of Skibbereen in West Cork where people resorted to eating donkeys during the Great Famine. 3. The only problem I have with the IFHF is you pay up front then you may have a number of items to pick from. If you don't know absolutely for sure and take a stab in the dark, you may get something and you may waste your money. You don't really have enough info up front to be sure which one you want to open. I have gotten some good info but have also wasted some euros. And these days who has them to waste. I wish there was some way to check and make sure you are opening the right one. 3. Dear friends I am still no nearer finding out about my family. All I know is that Ann McCoy was born in Limerick about 1829. Her father was John and her mother, possibly, Catherine. There was also a Margaret, but I do not know whether she was a sister or Aunt. Ann is supposed to have had a brother who was either a Catholic Priest or an MP. She married a John Har(r)old from Derry in May 1847 in St Mary's Moorfields in London. She came out to South Africa in 1860. She died in Paddington, London on 3rd August 1915 and was buried at Kensal Green. Is there any way that I can check out the Catholic Priest suggestion? Are catholic records available on the web? How many parishes existed in the 1820's and how can I find them? It is so frustrating not to be able to get any further. Kind regards Monica

    3. Hi to all, I have been searching for 14 years for my elusive ggrandfather and mother in Ireland. Information I have is that Michael their son has stated on all forms, marriage, death and immgration forms that his parents were a James Sulllivan and his mother Hannah McInercy and that he was from Limerick. This is all that I have. The spelling of the name of Hannah McInercy I have been told could have a huge amount of variants and I can find absolutely nothing on this family in Limerick so I am hoping that someone out there has some clues about them or how best to go about finding them if possible. Michael immigrated to NZ and married a girl called Ellen Caples from Conna in Cork. He immigrated to NZ in 1878 and he and Ellen named their children James Michael Annie Jack Joseph Richard and Dolly. Any help would be really appreciated and if anyone needs assistance for NZ relatives I would love to help. Thanks Anne

    3. I''m seeking any info available on the family of my great grandmother Josephine Fitzgerald. She listed her birthplace as Pallaskenry on one of her children's birth certificates, and she was born in 1875. She married Thomas McMahon in 1896 in Chicago, where the chidren were born, and probably ended up in Ontario, Canada where her husband was born. Any help would  be greatly appreciated.
