I seeking Agnes WHYTE who married George EAKINS (Police Constable) in Whitechurch Co. Cork (1857) Have found this family in Limerick City where George EAKINS died in 1900 and Agnes EAKINS in 1917. My great grandfather was Andrew WHYTE born 1841 and brother of Agnes EAKINS. He emigrated to New Zealand about 1863. Having no success in finding his links to Ireland I am hoping that the EAKINS collateral line may hold some pieces of the puzzle. If anyone has details about this family or there are any descendants willing to share information with me I would be very grateful.Would appreciate any help. Shirley.New Zealand.

This is the time of the year when the lists often slow down. People are busy with other things. We don't allow humor on the lists during the year, so once in a great while, I open the lists up to humorous emails. Between now and January 29th you can tell the list a joke. They must be either Irish or Genealogy related. Not smutty. No bad language. Please put the word Humor week in the subject line (or hit reply ) so those who are not interested, can skip the emails. Have fun. We have had some funny Irish wit shared in the past, so I hope we will do as well this year. Cheers, Christina Listowner for IRL-Longford, IRL-Tipperary, Irl-Clare and IRL-Limerick

Thanks for the try. Unfortunately I should have mentioned that my Timothy Sullivan was most likely born in the 1790s. On the 1846 relief roll he was shown to have a family of 11. Now some of those 11 might be parents but he obviously had a bunch of children by then. Rita In a message dated 1/18/2011 12:21:07 A.M. Greetings, I'm looking for Sullivan's in Limerick. I have a Mary Sullivan married to Jeremiah Hurley. I had research done by Limerick Heritage Centre and they could not find any of the 3 sons(Daniel, Jeremiah, John) of this couple born between 1835-1850. The 3 sons ended up in Worcester, MA. I have a naturalization on Jeremiah the son stating he was from Limerick but I've had no luck locating him. He married an Ann O'Brien in Worcester, John married an Ellen Power, and my own married Bridget Healy(Kerry). Do any of these names sound familiar to anybody? I'm starting to think that the naturalization might be wrong. I've done many naturalizations on my Irish ancestors and I've never had one that had the wrong county. The researcher in Limerick thought that Hurley/Sullivan were more plentiful in Cork, however I've searched the IFHF site to no avail. I'm patiently waiting for the rest of the Cork records.
