    3. Tina, The online system did not offer the same range of certificates. You can get an old Birth cert. But --Marriages occurring in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from January 1920- December 1921 From 1922 - present, marriages occurring in the Republic of Ireland only. Deaths Deaths occurring in the Republic of Ireland from 1924 - present So, some limitations. Christina > http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm > > There appears to be a secure online system. 1. [IRL-LIMERICK] Catholic archives
    2. Heather Bray
    3. Is there an Archives for Catholic records for Limerick. I am trying to find a Catholic marriage from the late 1830s or early 1840s. I can not find the baptismal records for the children but their death certificates only give the father as Conor or Cornelius (appears to be the same person). I am trying to find out the name of the mother i.e. who Conor / Cornelius married. 2. Gail Harms
    3. Hi Kathy, The IFHF records I have William quillinan 1876 could be Williams father died at age 84 but no name for a wife. William Quillinan 1880 is a 6 month baby. William Cullinane 1839 parents William Cullinane and Bridget Fitzgerald could be parents but not sure. The family obits I have that but I don't know any names in this family. William the father is on the marriage cert and Patrick Quillinan was presence at the wedding he could be a brother. William Quillinan and Eliza McMahon were 26 years old when they were married so that would put there births about 1839,1840. 3. If it's just a civil cert you're after, google the GRO. They're in the Irish Life mall, Dublin+ also in Rosscommon. You can order certs online. Civilreg only began in 1864 so nothing before that. 2. Tom Moffatt
    3. Hi - I was going to order up the tithe applotments for Kilcullane - but while that is the way it is spelled in the Griffiths, does anyone know if it is Kilcullane or Killculane (i.e. one or two l's) in the tithe applotment books? I saw in one reference it had two l's - and since I hate to order two different films, I hoped someone would have the answer. I am assuming the tithe applotments have survived for this parish. That is, of course, going to open you to credit card fraud. If you are going to do that, best if your bank will let you do a special number for a purchase. Some banks have a Safe number you can use where you specify a maximum amount. In that way no one can gain access to your credit card since it is a one time small amount. 3. I am researching the Quillinan family. We believe the Quillinan's came from Limerick. Sometime they moved to England not sure when. William Quillinan married Eliza McMahon on Nov 18,1866 in Fulham fields England. William's father's name was William Quillinan and Eliza's father was Denis McMahon. They lived at 30 Little Coram St. The last child they had was Honora she was born Feb 1871 we believe that after Honora was born they went back to Ireland. They were not liviing at 30 Little Coram St when the 1871 census was taken. 1881 Eliza was back in England living at 30 little Coram St but she was a widow with a 11 day old baby girl Mary E born in April 1881.We think William Quillinan died in Limerick Ireland.Eliza's family was living in England we think that after William died she went back to England because that is were her family was. 3. As Christina suggested, use the GRO at Rosscommon.  Credit cards can be used.  I have not had an issue with any type of fraud over the years from them.  However, I do not fax the form or fill it out on line.  I print it out and 'snail" mail it.  It does take longer but for the North Coast of USA it's a 6 - 8 week turnaround.  I should say, we have a credit card which has only a $500 limit which we use this type of transaction. However he has now retired so I am a bit out of touch as to the best way to purchase and pay for Irish certificates from here in New Zealand. I want to order a death certificate for the June quarter of 1896 fom the Kilmallock registration district. Any suggestions what would be the easiest way to purchase this certificate from New Zealand. Does anyone know of similar agents in Ireland who provide this sort of service. 3. I have reworded the Digest message again. However, It is up to individual Digest Users to take heed. To the list......Some list members have difficulties scrolling through a lot of repetitious verbiage. Please clean up not only replies to Digests but to any email on the list. That is the only way to make the Digests shorter and easier to read. Just delete the extra text. Or try highlighting just what you want to reply to. Some email programs will only show what you have "chosen". Be aware of others when you reply. 1. [IRL-LIMERICK] MICHAEL RIORDAN (b. 1834) of Herbertstown, Limerick
    2. Tom Moffatt
    3. I have a MICHAEL RIORDAN, born 1834 in Herbertstown, Limerick. (Civil parishes Kilcullane & Ballinard) Signs up in 43rd regiment in 1852, completes 20 years in army (mostly India, and NZ), and retires in 1872 he says back to Herbertstown, Limerick. Most of his sons go to Royal Hibernian Military School, and then to army. Daughters not known. Does anyone have anything on him? Graveyard in Herbertstown perhaps? Or some record between 1872 and death (date unknown) or around his birth (1834). Anyone know if the tithes for Kilcullane Parish have survived? Looking for Riordans there. MICHAEL RIORDAN WAS RC (Catholic Parish Hospital) Any help or suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks Tom Moffatt

    3. I had the following response: A RootsIreland.ie / IFHF customer support staff member has replied to your support request, #649208 with the following response: The Wexford centre is currently closed and no research is being carried out. There are microfilmed copies of parish registers for Co. Wexford in the National Library of Ireland, Kildare St., Dublin. Civil births, deaths and marriages are available at the General Register Office, Dublin. Please see www.groireland.ie for more information. Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864. It is envisaged that some of the Wexford data will be available on our website in due course. It is Limerick Genealogies decision not offer the Advanced Search at this stage. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Christina Hunt" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 21, 2011 5:35 PM To: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] IFHF no Advanced Search > This is what I thought. 3. Hi list I have just received this reply from Limerick Genealogy IFHF in reply to my query. Dear Ms. Spearin, No decision has yet been made by Limerick Genealogy to join the Advanced Search facility. Registered users will be informed by email if and when Limerick joins. It seems very unfair to have left us out of this resourse. I have spent a fortune on Limerick records, and am not a happy customer. I will not be spending any more. This is rediculous when every other County have included it in their search, ( all but limerick and Sligo ). Can you advise me as to when you might be adding it?
