My Great Great Grandfather was a John Cronyn - a surgeon in Dublin - who also studied at Trinity College. He retired to Tipperary. He had a least 4 children I can definitely confirm - a daughter who became an actress. A son who continued to practice medicine in Dublin. A son who became a veterinary surgeon and was killed in the 2nd World War - I understand he never married and my great grandfather who also practiced medicine (after spending 7 years in India), moved to England within the first couple of years of marriage. The family spent time both in England and at the family home in Ireland (Dromore - Tipperary and thus his children were born in Ireland and England). I do have the family tree on Ancestry.com so you can find further details if you look under the Cronyns. I am trying to find a connection between the Tipperary Cronyns and my lot. There have been family stories that some Cronyn relatives did move to Canada - I am trying to find something more substantial. By the way when visiting Dublin I did find details of Benjamin Cronyn who studied at Trinity College. I am sure I made some notes of what I found (was not a lot though) I will let you know. I will keep an eye out for any of your family members during my research and let you have the details. Regards, Rowena
