    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YWC.2ACI/488.493.3281.2 Message Board Post: I looked through various records including immigration. I couldn't find anything on Farrell or Annie but I did find Thomas living with Mary Jane on the 1920 census. They are in Worcester, MA. Both are widowed. Mary Jane has some children living with her also. I can send you the census image if you like. I have been able to track the arrival of my McGurl inlaws to around 1859-1860. They settled in PA. I have not been able to find out where in Ireland the originated. Has it been your experience that most McGurl's hail from Leitrim? I have read on other sites where the name originated in Donegal. The original Irish name is Mac Fhearghail (pronouced Mac Garrell) from the first name Flearghal meaning valiant.
