I am researching my family & found that the Durcan/Durkin relatives come from the Leckee, Foxford area of County Mayo. My grandmother's name was Mary Anne (Marian) Durcan. She was born in 1903. Her father was James Durcan & mother Bridget or Brigid McNicholas. She had three sisters. I hope this helps. Perhaps if you have any info of Durcans from this area you can share it, since I haven't been able to get much info from this side of family. Good luck with your dissertation.
