Leitrim 1901 census. This may be Michael Patrick and Margaret Gilroy's parents. It's by townland, civil parish and barony: Wardhouse, Rossinver, Rosclogher: Household Gilroy Patrick(60) Farmer Maggie(56) wife-Winnie(23) daughter-Catherine Rooney(62) visitor While many Irish emigrants referred to their townland or civil parish as their place of origin, others referred to the closest town (market centre) since it was a more recognizable name rather than the civil divisions. See http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/news/articles/2435.asp for a fuller description of these civil divisions. I did find the following Gilroy in Mohill Town (including the civil parish and barony): Mohill T./Glebe Street, Mohill, Mohill: Household Gilroy Stephen (56) Cattle dealer Maria(45)-Stephen(16)-Bridget(14)-Charles(15)-Lizzie(9) You can see the entire Co. Leitrim 1901 census at http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/1901census and scroll to the bottom of the page for the search feature. You can search just by surname and county. Eilis O'Hara
