My greataunt was Margaret Dowdican Clancy, she married Dan Clancy in the US. He was from Kinlough Co.Leitrim. Dowdicans were/are from Tullaghan (Tallaghan). My aunt lives in Tullaghan, she may have some info. Otherwise check the Heritage Centre at either Carrick-on-Shannon or Ballinamore Co.Leitrim. Margaret & Dan had no children so your connection may be via other family members if from the same Clancy family. I believe the Clancy Family of Kinlough helped sailors of one of the Spanish shipwrecks off the coast of Leitrim/Sligo in the 1600s. Anyway, check the Kinlough Web.
