In the past I have written to two different relatives in the USA and neither one answered. Their last names were not Reynolds but were Grand and GGrandchildren through one of my Grandfathers married sisters. Here in the US I took a chance and called them and they said they were glad to here from me and were "planning to call." I wouldnt blindly call Ireland. One family I am in active touch with since they are researching their line, related to mine and we have passed information back and forth. They even had an early pivcture of my father I didnt have. The second contact was an elderly lady to whom I sent information and she promised me pictures, etc but hasnt replied. You never know. My GGrandfather left circa 1860 So I think a letter has a slim chance of succeeding. I have checked the phone listing and have a copy of the cancelation pages from the valuation office so I am not writing blindly. My wife and I planned a trip to Co Leitrim in spring 2005 but she fell ill and we had to cancel. Thanks again for your help. Jack
