Concerning expecting a reply I realize the chance is slim but with information so hard to come by in Ireland I might just try it. Also you can read the answer I sent to Sharon about replies to letters I sent in the USA. I went back to the valuation office site as you suggested. I hadnt realized that they were listing Commericial and Industrial property. However when I put in the townland, etc the results did show names, property listed as house, domestic. so I dont know. My search of GV has included copies of the actual pages and I sent for and received the cancellation pages from the valuation office. I am not certain how up to date the most recent sheet is. My GGrandfather and mother were married in Mohil in 1851 and disappear until the mother and 7 children arrive in port of NY in 1865. A thorough search of US records for that family has not yielded any clues as to county or town, etc , of the children's birth.I continue this US research. Because they left so early I hadnt considered the 1901 or 1911 census but I think you have a good idea there and will look into those censuses. Most likely I wont write unless I have some worthwhile information. Thanks again for your help.Jack
