    3. Sharon, Thanks for the info. I sent for and received the cancellation papers and I will have to go back over them but there was a Reynolds somewhere in Drumboy, Mohill, Leitrim on most all of the sheets as I remember. The latest sheet I am told covers 1995-2000, so they could be gone. There is a phone number for a Reynolds in their current directory but not in Drumboy. I have some investigation to do before I write. I have been doing family history for about 7 years spending most of the time getting organized and doing other branches of my family and my wife's. I have been at the Reynolds-Leitrim-RI-family, my family, about the last year and one half. I have learned a lot, a whole lot of info in the USA. I think I will work on my info before I write. My wife and I had to drop plans to go to Ireland, her GGrandfather was from Roscommon and lived close enough to know my family. Strange how we meet 150 years later and marry. We will try again to get over there. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YWC.2ACI/5429.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Jack, If you actually have a Reynolds living on the same land that you have identified as being your ggrandfather's, it would be very unlikely that they are not descended from your family. The majority of folks in Leitrim had to leave, whether to Scotland or further away, so when you have that type of information it is not a coincidence. Few of my families in Leitrim were able to stay on their farms, but they usually owned the land up until their death and often into subsequent generations who might let it out as pasture etc. Most towns have folks with very long memories (and they will send you on to others who might know more). It is not necessarily your Reynolds 4th cousin who will know what happened 30, 60, or 150 years ago, but one of the other folks who remembers incidents that happened in your townland that will tie-in to your family and help you get a picture of their lives. Sometimes walking on the land itself gives one more meaning and connection than the people. I just recently found a woman in England whose grandmother was my greatgrandmother's sister and we are having a great time corresponding and plan to meet. Again, good luck. Some folks who are posting to this site recently are receiving answers that are very negative and that have nothing to do with Leitrim at all. ****************** Some County Leitrim websites: http://www.connorsgenealogy.net/Leitrim/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~irllet/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-LEITRIM-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
