If Ireland, he has no location and no parents names. A Charles McLoughlin in Griffiths in Leitrim in 1856 could be anyone and as yet there's no connection between the two. There are Charles McLoughlins listed in Griffiths Valuation in many counties -- not just Leitrim. And many, many people weren't even listed in Griffiths. A connection needs to be made between Colin's Charles McLoughlin and Charles ancestors wherever they came from. He needs Charles McLoughlin's parents names as well as a place of birth. Otherwise, Colin could be researching many, many Charles McLoughlins in Ireland unnecessarily. So he needs to complete his research in Charles McLoughlin's, and his children's civil and church records in the UK to get the information he needs before he can begin research in Ireland.
