His wife wasn't mentioned at all. Apparently then he has no connection to this county other than through his wife. Without his birth location in Ireland, i.e. the town/townland, civil parish and county as well as his parents names it would be impossible for anyone in Ireland to attempt any link. His and his children's civil and church records wherever they emigrated would be sources to find his specific birth location in Ireland. There are 32 counties and 64,000 towns/townlands. Regarding his wife, Alice Gilroy, you'd need her birth location in County Leitrim and parents names to find her baptismal record in the church register for that location. The Leitrim Heritage Centre will provide county-wide research for you to find that record on a fee-basis.
