    1. Re: [LEITRIM] Lookup for a Myles McFadden born July 1859 in Letrim
    2. Pat, I've looked at a few websites with which I am familiar, one in particular that shows baptisms and births held by the Leitrim Heritage Centre - there is no birth/baptism listed for a Myles McFadden (or alternate spellings) in the time period in which you are interested. I did look up his name on a Rootsweb database and found that his father's name was Daniel. Griffiths Valuation (an Ireland land tax record) showed a Daniel McFadden in Cloonclare civil parish, Tullyskeherny townland. This was the only Daniel McFadden listed for Co. Leitrim. Griffiths Valuation for Leitrim was done in 1857, so that is close to the birth year for Myles, and the Daniel in Cloonclare possibly was his father. Other McFaddens listed in Co. Leitrim for Griffiths Valuation were a Myles, Patrick, and James McFadden, all in Killanummery civil parish - these could have been relations to your McFaddens because of the similarity in forenames. One name variation you may consider is McPadden - it is very similar phonetically and there were numerous McPaddens in Inishmagrath civil parish in Co. Leitrim - just a thought. If you are interested in trying to track the Daniel McFadden in Cloonclare through the land records, contact me and I can give suggestions of how to use Mormon microfilms - it might reveal approximately when he died, who had the land after he died, etc. Good luck in your search!
