The surname Jagoe, for example, is indeed found in Ireland and also has variations of Jago, Iago, Igo, Igoe among others. Your best strategy for finding your husband's gggrandparents birth location in Ireland is to research their and their children's US census records and then their civil and church records in the US. You should be able to find if they originated in Ireland in the census because their country of birth is noted. With the family information from the US census records, you can then research their civil and church records in the locations where they lived in the census to find specifically where in Ireland they were born, i.e. the town/townland, civil parish and county.
