I was in a position similiar to you, The only thing I learned was their Townland, Drumboy, in the civil parish of Mohill, Co Leitrim and the church where Catherine and Michael were married. I checked films on a couple of parishes near Mohill without success. I tried a film in Northeren Ireland and then stopped. I then asked the Heritage centre in Co Leitrim for a preliminery check of Leitrim and they found nothing and advised "no further research ." A couple of message posters advised me to search every record I could find in the USA first looking for anything that would give a location in Ireland. That was good advise, I have learned a lot about the family that migrated to RI. My Grandfather, one of the children had moved away from his family and lost contact over the years so it was very exciting to rebuild his family again. I havent found any record of an Ireland location listed on any record so far but I keep searching the family here anyway. I am really not very knowledgeable about Ireland research and the only thoughts I can give you is to consider a complete search in the USA first of those that migrated here. There is a wide span of USA records you can look at, from vital records to naturalization, censuses, wills, deeds, cemeteries, etc. See what you can learn from them. A good book on this subject is "Discovering your Irish Ancestors" by Dwight A Radford &Kyle J. Betit. They give a lot of information on US records that will help your research. Goood luck, Jack
