    1. Re: [LEITRIM] Gosnell
    2. Only Gosnell families I can find in Ireland through Griffiths Valuation lived in Co. Cork - two Johns and a William, and the two Johns may actually have been the same man. I tried one or two alternate spellings of the surname but did not get any hits. Cork may be where you should concentrate your efforts. Bill in Virginia

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YWC.2ACI/5350.1 Message Board Post: Maryt, Do you know when they went to Scotland ? If it is after Griffith's 1857 Land Valuation you might find your Patrick. Griffith's has about 22 Sheridan families in all of Leitrim (not very many) but four are Patricks. The name is oddly spread around through 10 different parishes. The only one that has more than 1 or 2 is Carrigallen which has 8 families, two headed by a Patrick. Carrigallen is closer to Cavan than to Roscommon, I would have expected otherwise. Do you have their specific origins in Roscommon ? approximate age for Patrick or the name of his wife ?
