Words crocheted on it are "Martha Orr - Drumheriff House". Can anyone identify this House? Was it, perhaps, an orphanage or home for unwed mothers? It may be associated with a baby who had the last name of Fowley or Munroe. Can anyone steer me in a direction to identify the House? Phyllis

    3. > All those other years for freeholders in Ireland - do any of them > cover Leitrim? How do they define Freeholder? Does the person have to > own the land they are farming? Acording to James Ryan's book, Irish Records: Freeholders Lists A freeholder was one who held land for the duration of his life or for that of a specified individual(s), as distinct from short-term leaseholders or annual rent payers. The significance of freehold status is that they were entitled to vote. Lists are available for many counties at various periods. Where available, they usually give the address, sometimes the occupation, and occasionally voting tendency. In the Leitrim section of his book, he lists the following available records: 1791, Names of Registered Freeholders of Co. Leitrim, FHL film # 100213 1820, A list of the Freeholders or Voters in Co. Leitrim, ca. 1820. Arranged alphabetically by barony. 3. I wasn't aware they were on microfilm. I've done a search for Placename Leitrim, but cannot find Freeholders, and I did a search for Keyword Freeholders and found plenty of hits, but not sure which ones I would want. Do you know which particular film numbers I would need? All those other years for freeholders in Ireland - do any of them cover Leitrim? How do they define Freeholder? Does the person have to own the land they are farming? Thank you! I am related to Steven Reynolds by common ancestor we have not yet found. We match on all 37 markers with our DNA from familytreedna. I believe Steve mentioned he had a relative who was also researching. Are you his relative? I have a Patrick Reynolds and Sarah Baxter and their son Michael Reynolds in Mohill Co Leitrim. Michael Married Catherine McGinnis in 1851 in St Patrick's in Mohill, daughter of Phillip McGinnis and Margaret unknown. They appear to be the familys shown on Griffith's Valuation living in the Drumboy townland or close by. There is no evidence to show that my Patrick or his wife left Ireland. Steven said his Patrick came to Canada. Thus with two Patricks, if they are related, I think it would have to be by having a common Grandfather or prehaps further back. I dont see how we can get further back with known records in Ireland. My Michael Reynolds and Catherine came to RI in 1865 and stayed. The children spread out from there. If you are related to Steve, have him give you my email address and you can contact me direct if you wish. I envy you going to Ireland.Steve told me he solved the Briggs puzzle. Jack

No rush on this at all, just whenever is convenient for you and you have a few moments (or hours!?) at the FHC. Thanks again for the offer!
