    1. 1901 Census images - other versions?
    2. Susan Daily
    3. I was reviewing the 1901 census images on the LDS microfilm, and was disappointed to notice that the person making the microfilm skipped some of the beginning pages that showed if a person had a barn, cow shed, piggery, etc. It seems he/she copied the top of the page, but not the back of the sheet. Are there other versions of the 1901 census available somewhere? Although this isn't must-have information, it does make the narrative in the history more interesting! Thank you, Susan

    1. Understanding church death record naming
    2. Susan Daily
    3. If a Catholic church record states the following: 9 May 1858 obiit Brigida Cooke alias Kilkenny in anno sua aetatis 49. Gubs. Does that mean it is likely the woman who died was born with the name Brigid Cooke and married a Kilkenny, or is it the other way around? (I've been taking it to mean the former.) Thank you, Susan

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YWC.2ACI/5387 Message Board Post: I photographed some of the clearly-written pages of the 1833 Tithes list for Cloone Parish, Ardagh Diocese in County Leitrim (source info is at end). I have attached a sample page (no. 21 showing townlands Drumbad, Clonohill, and Porecussa) so you can see how beautiful this book is. I was only able to do about half the pages before the battery in my digital camera died. I hope to complete the work next week. If you would like a look-up, you must provide to me the name of the townland from the list below, and then the name of the person or surname you are looking for. I will not be able to go through all the pages looking for a name without knowing the town. The spellings of these townlands are as written in the book. Many are spelled phonetically (i.e. Sonna-more instead of Sonnaghmore), but most misspellings are the book's author alone. When you write to me (either post below, or reply to the IRL-Leitrim email group - I am a member of that list so that is fine, or email me directly), please let me know if I do find your name of interest, if you would like the two pages of JPG files (similar to the attachment here) to be emailed back to you. File sizes are large - about 500 kb each. I will send all replies by personal email, so please make sure your spam filter will allow a reply. Again - only from the townlands below - thank you for your cooperation, and good luck!
