Indiana around 1830. His first land purchase was in 1834. Any ideas on what is meant by Latrow would be appreciated. He married Hannah Corcoran probably in Canada.

Surnames: Cassidy, Flynn, Keegan, Lee and McDermott Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YWC.2ACI/5000.1 Message Board Post: Steve, scanning through both the Ellis Island records and the 1901 census on the Leitrim-Roscommon website I found the following which might connect to you: The census has a Mary Kelly (daughter of a widower Pat) and her brother Thomas living in the townland of Sweetwood Lower in Killarga parish (a few miles from Manor Hamilton) her age is listed as 27. Interestingly it notes that Mary and Thomas were born in England. Then there is a Mary Kelly arriving in NYC in 1910, going to her brother Mick in Brooklyn. She is listed as 27 (which would be a decade too young, but ages are often wrong) and comes from Sweetwood and her father was Pat ! The census also has a 14 year old John Gilbride living in the townland of Tullynamoyle (also in Killarga) with his 18 year old sister Mary and their father Thomas. In 1910 a 22 year old John Gilbride arrives in NYC on his way to join his sister Mary in Bronxville. His father is thomas and he is from Tullynamoyle. I think it's clear that these records are referring to the same John and Mary, but are they YOUR John and Mary ? You may want to join drumkeeranfolk @ yahoo groups which is for folks from this area. Hope this helps, good luck.

She married my grandfather, John Gilbride in the early 1900's. He had at least two brothers, James and Thomas. I know very little about them. My grandfather is buried in a church cemetery outside of Manorhamilton. Visited the grave about twenty five years ago. He died in 1950-51? I wish I could remember the name of the church. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. My grandmother came to New York from Leitrim with my father, Thaddeus in 1951. My grandmother spent time as a nanny in Philadelphia around the turn of the century and returned to Leitrim after 1900. (dates unsure) My father had three sisters: Mary, Kitty and Florence. I also find it hard to obtain birthdates and other information about John and Mary. Unfortunately, my father and his sisters have all passed away. Any comments would be welcomed. Steve
