Leitrim and about three miles east of Ballintogher village in Co. Sligo. Killanummery is also the name of the civil parish in this area of Co. It's Essex County and here's the link: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/board/an/localities.northam.usa.states.newjersey.counties.essex If Thomas Gilmartin is a priest in the US, there's a list published every year of the names and addresses of all US priests. It's in several volumes but your local public library should be able to help you gain access to it. It's a reference book and I believe you wouldn't be able to check it out from the library. You could also check the various Dioceses around Newark. There's a link to all US Dioceses at http://www.usccb.org/dioceses.htm Have you tried checking the online US phone directory? It's at http://www.whitepages.com You could start with the areas in and around NJ. Eilis O'Hara

We have just returned from Co Leitrim, Ireland and found that my great great grandmother Mary Creamer Cafferty divided her farm between her son Andrew and the Gilheeney family. I think one of her daughters, Margaret or Catherine may have married a Gilheeney. They lived nearby in Miskaun Glebe, Aughnasheelin, Co Leitrim. My great grandmother, Mary Cafferty emigrated to RI in 1874, and went to live with her uncle Patrick Cafferty and his wife who was a Gilheeney. Would like to share notes with you.
