    3. Hi, I am new to this List and I am trying to trace my Gt-Grandparents families in Ireland and I wonder if anyone has them on their family tree. My Gt-Grandfather was Daniel Martin born about 1809 & married to Bridget Hollans/Holland in Ireland (I do not have the date). In 1842 they moved to Kelso, Scotland with their 2 year old son John Martin (my Grandfather) another son Daniel Jr. was born in Kelso in 1848. Both Daniel & Bridget died in Kelso in the 1870's. Daniel Jr. married Margaret Boland in Kelso in 1871 & had 2 children. Bridget born 1871 & Daniel born in 1872. Gt-Gt-Grandparents were John Martin married to Rose Dempsey & Barnett Hollans/Holland married to Janet Coultney. I am not sure exactly what part of Ireland but could be either Co.Leitrim, Co. Monaghan or Co. Cavan as all 3 Counties have a thread running through the info. that I have so far. Also would anyone know what part of Ireland the 87th. Army Regiment would have been in the early 1800's If anyone can make a connection to this family I would like to hear from you. Have a good day Scottie Martin Southington, Ct U.S.A.

According to his death certificate he was born in Leitrim, Ireland. He married Mary Mulvey, also born in Leitrim. However, my ggrandparents were married in Providence, Rhode Island USA. I have not been able to find any information on the Irish roots of my Crofton or Mulvey great grandparents. Yours is the first Crofton surname that I"ve seen with roots in Leitrim. My ggrandparents were both Catholics. From what I can gather from the 1900 R.I. census, my great grandfather was unable to read or write; but my ggrandmother, Mary Mulvey could. I would be interested in knowing more about your Leitrim Croftons. I believe my ggrandfather's parents names were John and Anne, but I don't know Anne's surname. It may have been Duigan, but I can't verify that. I had pretty much stopped searching because I've hit nothing be deadends. If you can shed any light on the Croftons of Leitrim, I'd appreciate i! t. My email ID is [email protected] Thanks.

Three of his son's moved to Illinois - probably in the 1880's. Please let me know if you think there is any connection here. I have a lot of "holes" when it comes to the Donahoe's.
