    1. can someone help
    2. I need some help trying to pinpoint where in Queens Co...Laois my Grattans were from. Katherine was born in 1812 and we believe that she had a brother named Michael and a sister named Elizabeth. They came into New Brunswick Canada from Queens Co, Ireland. There are several Grattans all from Queens, about 6 or 7 of them but most came at different times. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to find out where in Queens they were from? It is spelt either Grattan or Gratton Jennee:-)

    3. I've got a lot of Laois records and no mention of the surname Grattan in them at all other than as a street in Mountrath. when I checked the name in an old telephone directory - the name only turns up as Grattan stores in Portlaois town - so I guess there's a Grattan street there as well........... From that - if I was looking for people of the surname - I'd begin with the Tithes for those two areas - Mountrath is only a few miles away from, P'Laois...........
