I just came across your post and it got my attention. My gggreat-grandfather was John Haslam and he was living in Grange in 1828 when my ggreat-grandfather, Edward, was born. Edward was baptized at SS Peter & Paul in Maryborough. John had a son named Joseph who was baptized in 1808. My Haslams were Catholic as well. Joseph's siblings, besides Edward, were Mary, Sophia, Alice, Philip, Ann, Henry, & William. His mother was Ann O'Connor/Connors. Unfortunately, I can't give you any more info about my Joseph other than what I have. When my family emigrated they stayed in Auburn, NY for a while, then Indiana, and, finally, Michigan. I haven't found any evidence of Joseph having been with them here in the US. Good luck. Let me know if you'd like any more info to help narrow down your search. There were a lot of Haslams in Laois Co., but not many of them were Catholic. That should help. Roxanne Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
