    2. This is exciting! The John Brannon, son of Patrick, who you mention is one of my stepfather's ancestors. He settled in Virginia where he was called "Irish John." My stepfather was named John Brannon, he was the son of William Brannon, son of John Brannon, son of Bushrod Brannon, who was a grandson of the John Brannon who emigrated. I have a list of all the original John's children, will find and post it. Some lines spelled it Brannon and some Brannan. My step-grandfather remembered that Sam Brannan had been "some sort of cousin," but the exact relationship had been forgotten.
