Looking for the town/parish where these families are from. Below is an excerpt from a letter dated October 1874, to Cousin James, naming them. "If your Mother is still living give her and Nancy my love. Remember me to all that is left of Martin Dempsey's family, John White's family, Edward Banans, and all my friends. Now to prove you are better natured than I have been write to me soon and tell me all the changes since I left Ireland. Direct to Michael Dempsey, Jena, Catahoula Parish, La. Believe me always your Most Affectionate Cousin, Michael Dempsey" Michael Dempsey, born 1822, Queen's County, to Michael Dempsey and Mary Moran. Siblings who emmigrated include Peter, James, Christopher, Cornelius Conner (b1812), and sister Mary. Their father remained in Ireland and died there, likely during the potato famine. Their father wrote to Michael in the U.S. seeking money/relief during the famine. Michael was unable to send it. Conner and Christopher settled in WI. Michael settled LA. James in NY, last seen in 1840 w/son Michael. Mary in Boston, married Dennis Kelly. She died in St. Louis. Her children were raised in a convent. Peter was last seen marrying in VA circa 1851.
