In 1826 there was an Elizabeth Gardiner listed as leasing land in the Tithes in Borris and Derrin in the civil parish of Aghaboe (Aughaboe/Aghavoe); there was also a Richard Gardiner in a townland listed as Gorthaclea (which may be Gortnaclea) again in the parish of Aghaboe. There are a Henry and William Gardiner listed in the Killaloe marriage licence bonds, no address given for Henry but William was from a btownland called Ballyna in Tipperary. The following is from a gravestone in Skeirk graveyard in Co. Laois: Johnston: Erected by/her loving mother/in memory of her daughter/Louise Johnston/who died Nov 1891/aged 15 years/Grandchild of late /J. Gardiner I have not got all the info on the Tithes from Laois. I haven't transcribed all the graveyards either - but the above does give you some places to begin looking.
