Looking for your Irish immigrant to US will not be on Ellis Island site if they came before 1892... Ellis Island did not exist until then. The Famine immigrants etc that came earlier than 1892 came in through Castle Garden..So don't waste time on the Ellis Island site . Watch the dates. Charlotte Smith
