My Bell ancestors are originally from Bellview (which I believe has been renamed to Blackhills). The last Bell (William Bell) that I know of living in Bellview is shown in Griffiths valuation. The Bells and Carters are related but this relationship may go back to the early 1800s or earlier. My line of Bells left Bellview over the years and lived in Clonduff, Rearbeg and Drummond areas in the early 1800's. Many Bells left and settled in upper Canada. My line came to New York in 1871.
