I sit here and debate to myself - will I or won't I.............to just let it die by itself seems much more dignified and yet, then I would have to deal with mail from some people who would wonder where it had gone to.........but, I could just switch off my computer and cancel my internet subscription. It seems the From Ireland web site is receiving too much traffic (over 1GB bandwidth per month), I have been asked to upgrade the package I have paid for or the server admin will have to 'cap' the site. I guess that means put a limit on the numbers who visit, I don't know. Three months was all it took - the number of discussions as to it's content, whether or not it was created using MSIE - they don't matter any more. The time it took - wasted. I give you the analysis of traffic to the From Ireland web site over yesterday, the last week and the last month............ at: http://www.from-ireland.net/statisticalanalysis.htm I always got into trouble if I said 'Americans' when I made a post to mail lists as to how I was generalising - I have found it interesting to see the number of Americans checking out my web site compared to Canadians, Australians, and others. The Irish figures are also interesting because they are so low. The site has had an average of 2,500 hits a week - very few of these have been the result of search engine referrals. Most people will just look at one page or other - stay a minute or so - the norm for surfers - but then there are those few who stay much longer. The From Ireland web site is now finished - like one of these half built houses we see every now and again, except this one has stopped at the foundations. Jane
