I'm long been researching my "tree" in England, but Ireland is new to me, so any chance of some pointers from you old hands out there? Its a familiar story I'm sure. The English census entries indicate births in "Queens County", but no more detail than that, and nothing else to go on. I need to find the birth/baptism details for three sisters: Ellen (1858/60), Sarah (1861/2) and Margaret (1863/4); daughters of James & Margaret MORRELL. There are probably other (older) siblings, since the Mother was born c1812, also in Queens County. Do I have any alternative other than to search all available Catholic Baptism Registers in the County for the early 1860's (gulp)? I tried the Griffith's Valuation (off fiches) but the only "James Morrell" entries were for 1850 (Barony of Maryland West, Township of Killeany). I think that's a bit too early to make any sort of connection; but I suppose there are worse starting points! But how can I suss which Parish covers that area? Any help much appreciated. Not much danger of you ending up "teaching Granny to suck eggs" in this case! Regards, David Lindley Coming to you from Worsley in the Duchy of Lancaster.
