This should be of more interest to Laois researchers than any others.........it is a mail I sent to the Genire list tonight and I have to go back to the Laois records and check on the surnames found through the whole film as I have for the last set of parish records on the link I give here *********************** A few years ago (doesn't time fly!!) I began to try and put something together re Irish parish records - shortly afterwards I had major computer problems and lost a lot of what was sent to me by people on the mail lists I was subbed to. Since then I have never managed to really get back to it. Recently, I began to try and find what I had received or done myself and put the information together into one file. Even back when I began this I wasn't too sure of exactly what I wanted or how to go about it!! - I just knew it hadn't been done and I felt it would be useful................ So, now, while I have still many other things unfinished I have begun to work on this parish project again. I know exactly what I want to do and how I want to organise it. I've created a very rough web page - no internal links - to search this one you'll have to go to find on your browser. There is some information on a few counties, but one more than others - there is a list of records or what is on one LDS film and it is a right mish mash - Ireland and England together and various Irish counties. What I really want and the way I want this file to be organised and information held on it is at the end of the page - some county Monaghan parish information............I've left out the bit about townlands. I would ask those of you who look at this page to look at the last entries for Monaghan whether or not you have an interest in that county - and then I ask that if you have ever looked at records for any Irish parish records, if you can remember the state of the film or any of the kind of information I give on this page - and then, whether or not you would consider writing to me and telling me what you saw and what you thought of it - and allowing me add it to this file on the from-ireland web site - and I will organise the lot into county information.
